• 4 Tbsp turmeric powder
  • 8 Tbsp water (usually the water:turmeric ratio is 2:1)
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper (piperine from the pepper assists the body in the absorption of curcumin)
  • grated ginger, cinnamon, honey, vanilla as desired.


  1. Mix all of the ingredients in a small saucepan and bring to a boil whilst stirring. Then simmer over a medium heat for a few minutes until a paste is formed, stirring continuously with a wooden spoon.
  2. Allow the finished paste to cool, pour it into a sealable glass and refrigerate (5-7 days). The paste also tastes good in yoghurt or cereal.
