Kitchari is an Ayurvedic stew made with lentils, rice and vegetables.

Zutaten

  • 1 cup of mung dal lentils or red lentils
  • 2 cups of basmati rice
  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • 1/2 sweet potato, peeled and diced
  • 1 celery stick, finely chopped
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger, grated or finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp ghee
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp cilantro powder
  • 1 pinch of ground chilli powder
  • 1/3 tsp fenugreek seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Zubereitung

Add all the ingredients to the AND SOY blender, fill with 1,3 litres water, stir well and prepare with program 3 to give the “Kitchari” a firmer consistency. Serve with freshly cut herbs and roasted sesame seeds, nuts or other seeds.
