Kitchari is an Ayurvedic stew made with lentils, rice and vegetables.
Zutaten
- 1 cup of mung dal lentils or red lentils
- 2 cups of basmati rice
- 1 carrot, sliced
- 1/2 sweet potato, peeled and diced
- 1 celery stick, finely chopped
- 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger, grated or finely chopped
- 1 Tbsp ghee
- 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp cilantro powder
- 1 pinch of ground chilli powder
- 1/3 tsp fenugreek seeds
- Salt and pepper to taste
Zubereitung
Add all the ingredients to the AND SOY blender, fill with 1,3 litres water, stir well and prepare with program 3 to give the “Kitchari” a firmer consistency. Serve with freshly cut herbs and roasted sesame seeds, nuts or other seeds.
